Day Nine

I live right next to the Boardwalk. The one that's in The Lost Boys. It's a relatively begign, entertaining institution to have as one's neighbor. It's the linchpin of this town's tourist economy. It has rollercoasters, a revolving pendulum ride, one of those old shooting galleries with the piano player and little animals that pop up and down when you hit the target (there's a hilarious trick to activate the targets at once...), Guitar Hero, the old Atari Star Wars game, and Dance Dance Revolution. Which makes it an interesting laboratory for observing the sociology of how people interact with entertaining machines. I've been studying this topic with a friend of mine since over the summer, our objective is to identify underlying principals that could point toward improved designs. More on that later.
